The Partnership has 17 Sport Officers working in our communities in the Dublin City area: 2 Citywide Sport Officers, 2 Sport Inclusion & Integration Officers, 1 Health Promotion Officer and 25 Co-Funded Officers across Athletics, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Rowing and Rugby.
Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership work with a range of stakeholders to facilitate sport and physical activity services to our communities. These include local projects, citywide events and the delivery of information and training initiatives.
We provide accessible community-based sports, recreational facilities and programmes, to encourage sustainable development and drive participation rates in all sports. Exercise contributes to physical fitness, mental wellbeing, and social interaction. By its very nature, sport and physical activity is about participation and inclusion.
That goal of Dublin City Sport & Wellbeing Partnership has not changed despite the enormous challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. From the outset, DCSWP committed itself to the adaptation and re-imagining of programmes in order to keep everyone active and healthy during these difficult times. That commitment led to the development of the Virtual Hub which was designed to sustain delivery of our programmes and maintain the vital connection between coaches, Sport Officers and participants.
